What are CNG bi-fuel vehicles?

Useful Resources

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a substitute for gasoline, diesel, or propane fuel. It is considered to be an environmentally "clean" alternative to those fuels and it is much safer than other motor fuels. Dual-fuel vehicles allow users to take advantage of the wide-spread availability of gasoline or diesel but use a cleaner, more economical alternative when natural gas is available.

Demand for CNG vehicles are increasing, especially in Utah where consumers can fill up their vehicle for only $.64 per gallon. National CNG rates are about $2.00 per gallon, still a significant reduction in fuel cost.

CNG Results:

One of our CNG Cavalier drivers reported that he went 130 miles on $2.90 of CNG Fuel? He calculated the same distance on unleaded gasoline would have cost him $12.41

Advantages of CNG:

Nearly 87% of U.S. natural gas used is domestically produced60-90% less smog-producing pollutants30-40% less greenhouse gas emissionsLess expensive than gasoline
